I would have been very happy to answer your query regarding an asana for the cure of Harnia. It is possible to cure Harnia through Yoga. I believe Yoga has the power the cure many diseases without surgery. I would sugget you to contact a Yoga Guru or Expert for the correct asana. I feel doing on your own from begining is not advisable, it is always better to contact an expert and then start.

I am suffering from Harnia when I was 6 year old. Now I am 22. I was operationed when I was 15. I want to do body building. I want to make my body as Arnold. I know that it very very difficult but not impossible. I can't do that because when I do pushups I feel pain on the area where was operationed. I can't do even 5 push ups in one go.

I think I have harinia, one of the cell is becoming bigger and second one is small and is very loose and sometimes it pains. I have read that it can be cured with Yoga. i have had hernia for many years now.. my doctor suggested surgery as well. i was going to get it but lost my medical insurance so i kinda lost sight of getting that done.. cant afford it.. but i did hear from a couple people that in canada there is a place that the surgery for free. like i said, i heard it from people so i dont know if its a rumor or not. but you should definately check into that..

Thanks Jimbo for informing me about the right spelling of "Hernia" (not Harnia). I would also suggest next time, when starting a topic please use the right spelling of the word so everyone can relate, okay?

As I've researched there are many kinds of "Hernia", can you guys also include what kind of hernia do you have? Complications may also happen after an operation, and that is maybe one of the reasons why most of you don't want it. Try checking out wikipedia for the word "hernia" and see for yourself.

Clearly, you weren't the only one with the spelling issue.. as there are 40 some replies here all using the wrong spelling.

Using the correct spelling in Google should help people find useful resources... but I am curious about Yoga Poses that help with hernia?

I don't know if yoga could help hernia since it is muscular disorder in one particular muscles group.

Maybe there are other light exercise that could be done to strengthen the muscle wall affected by the disease.

Hernia occurs when part of an internal organ or body part protrudes through an opening into another area where it ordinarily should not be located.

There are many different types of hernias, but the most common is when a portion of the intestine protrudes through a weak area in the muscular wall of the abdomen. This causes an abnormal bulge under the skin of the abdomen, usually near the groin or the navel.

Have you ever had hernia Teedy? Do you know how bad it hurts, how disturbing it is? When you going through that kinda pain you want to do something about it right away. Not wait around for some dumb ass exercise to help for a little bit.

also, if yoga does have any effect on hernia it would just be to help deal with it. not to cure it.
