Stress is a normal part of daily life. However poorly managed stress can lead to a variety of health issues such as emotional, psychological and even physical problems. The first reason is that stressful situations cause blood pressure to rise. This condition, also called hyper tension, puts more strain on the entire cardio vascular system including the heart. Also during times of stress the body produces high levels of adrenaline and cortisol. Both of these hormones play a vital role in coping with stress but excessive levels adversely affect blood pressure and can lead to variety of other diseases.

Stress can also indirectly damage the body by influencing people’s behavioral patterns which can lead to self destructive behaviors. People’s eating habits often are affected by stress and individuals may find themselves overeating or not eating at all. I agree with you that we can reduce our stress and consequently stress related diseases if only we follow these steps. The problem can come from our mind, which may still tell us to not follow these steps. To get rid of our mental blocks I can suggest that meditation and Yoga will surely help.
